The World
Crossroads of the World Realm: Corporate HQ for Spellbound Treasure is located in a place known only as Crossroads. It’s a magically null area where the artifacts can be stored until they reach their destinations, and it’s a nexus on the roads leading to all the realms. Few people other than these four make Crossorads their home. Most paranormals can’t abide by the sheer lack of energy here. Etienne has the run of a rather large house in Crossroads. Robin lives in a smaller property on the premises, as does Pietor. Guiderius has a place near the main nexus where he can be called at a moment’s notice.
Estep Realm: A realm of mostly, gleaming modern cities. Falconaire City is the capital where the Prime Minister of Estep lives. The city is divided into districts. The Citadel is not only the name of the complex where the ministers have their offices but the name of the district where all the government is including the Pythian Elite complex, barracks, training facility, and academy. The Chenault district is where the rich and powerful have their homes and estates. The Avenal district appears to be an middle-class shopping area but in reality it houses the criminal element of Falconaire. Hawksmoor is the sole slum city of Estep. Many criminals live there amongst the poor. Falconaire is almost a military state with the Pythian Elite being the ultimate fighting force, a small army of warriors trained to use magic as well as weaponry.
Fae Realm: The Fae realm is broken up into three distinct parts. The oldest part of the realm is called simply the “Old World”, and it is home to the Seelie and Unseelie courts traditionally associated with elves and fae creatures.
Many centuries ago a group of fae wished to lead a more “modern” life, and these broke away to form the country of Caroann. Ruled by either a mated pair of fae, or a sibling pair, Caroann seems to be a be stuck in the Renissance and Middle Age period, though several fae from Caroann do cross over to the human realm.
After an ancient war that spanned years, a small subset of the Fae, those who had the ability to shift into animal form, were cast out of both the Old World and Caroann. It was thought that, should they ever gain absolute power over the Faery, their abilities would breed evil and chaos, and so the Faery government relegated them to a dark, forest-covered area of the Fae world. Because of its sprawling greenery, deep lakes, and untamed, flowing mountains and valleys, many of which had not been explored by the Fae, it was named the Faewild. Magic-infused borders surround the Faewild so none can leave, and the lack of available mates mean the Faewild shifters have turned to the human world to find mates and experience the freedom they have been denied from the Faery government.
To enter the human world, these very special fae must seek out a Realmbinder, one who can open a portal between the worlds. This is difficult and a Realmbinder only visits once a human month, for a short window of time.
Fae from Caroann and the Old World occasionally visit the Faewild, seeking new plant life or just for adventure, but many of them are never seen again, said to have been seduced by the shifting creatures of the Faewild.
Mellonian Realm: A realm inhabited with strong, nearly uncivilized warriors who capture enemies and put them to work in their underground mines.
Xenon Realm: The realm farthest from Estep.
